Virtual EMDR Therapy for Women in St Petersburg &
New Mexico

You’ve been trying to think your way out of feelings that live in your nervous system.
You still flinch when someone’s tone shifts and spiral after a conflict. You take what your partner says personally and feel a sudden sense of shame. You still find yourself saying yes when every part of you is screaming no. You're still bracing for the worst to happen and no amount of self-awareness seems to help.

EMDR, or eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing, is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain and body reprocess difficult experiences so you don’t feel as negatively impacted by them. It helps you process the pain and release it.

EMDR can help you shift negative beliefs, feelings, and body sensations so you are no longer stuck in the same patterns.

EMDR helps your mind and body finally recognize: that was then, and this is now.
After EMDR, clients often notice:
• Fewer emotional flashbacks and less reactivity in relationships
• Feeling safer having boundaries without the guilt spiral afterward
• A quieter inner critic or, at least, one that doesn’t run the show
• Feeling more present and grounded in their bodies
• Less shame around sensitivity and past experiences
• A deeper, more stable sense of who they actually

• New positive beliefs about themselves

What EMDR Therapy Can Help With:
→Complex childhood trauma (emotional neglect, verbal abuse, an unpredictable home environment)
→ People-pleasing, fawning, and chronic over-giving
→ Anxiety, overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation
→ Relationship triggers and fear of abandonment or rejection
→Low self-worth and deep-rooted feelings of being “too much” or “not enough”
→Difficulty trusting yourself or your perception of reality
→ Guilt, shame, and an overactive inner critic

→ Physical abuse/sexual assault
Common Questions About EMDR Therapy

-
Do I have to talk about every detail of my trauma?
Nope. One of the things people love about EMDR is that you don’t have to narrate every detail. You hold the memory in your mind while we do the bilateral stimulation & the processing happens internally.

-
Is EMDR going to make me feel worse before I feel better?
It’s normal to notice some emotional processing between sessions such as things can feel stirred up as your brain integrates the work. But EMDR is never meant to destabilize you. We build your resources first, we go at a pace that feels manageable, and we always end sessions with grounding. A lot of clients feel relief fairly quickly once processing begins.

-
How is EMDR different from regular talk therapy?
EMDR targets memories, emotions, body sensations, and beliefs. It's a therapy that doesn't require you to go over every detail verbally and helps you relieve symptoms at their roots.

-
Can EMDR be done online?
Yes! Online EMDR is just as effective as in-person. Clients often love the comfort of doing this healing work from their own space.

-
I’ve heard EMDR is intense. Is it right for me if I’m highly sensitive?
Your sensitivity means you’re already deeply attuned to your inner world & EMDR works with that, not against it. We’ll always work at a pace that respects your nervous system, and Phase 2 (preparation) makes sure you’re resourced and ready before we go anywhere near difficult memories.

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
