Trauma & Childhood Emotional Wounds
Heal from past trauma and the emotional wounds of childhood. Release the weight of people-pleasing, the need for "perfection," and on the look out for the next bad thing. Reclaim a secure sense of self, remember your worth, and move forward with more self-compassion. Create a life based on your values that you love to live.
Anxiety
Stop that inner critic from running your life, find relief from overthinking, waiting for the "other shoe to drop" and release the tension and fear living in your body. Find the right tools for you, get to the root cause, and move forward with more resilience, self-trust, and inner calm.

Skills
Anxiety can make it feel like your mind never stops racing; constantly overthinking, second-guessing, or preparing for the worst. My approach helps you understand what’s really happening beneath the surface so you can feel more in control instead of ruled by worry. Together, we’ll look at the patterns that keep anxiety going, calm your nervous system, and build a kinder relationship with your thoughts and feelings. Through gentle awareness, practical tools, and a focus on what your body and emotions are trying to tell you, you’ll learn how to find more ease, confidence, and peace in your daily life.
Healing from trauma isn’t just about talking through what happened; it’s about helping your whole self feel safe. In our work together, we’ll look at how past experiences may have shaped the way you think, feel, and connect with others. Through an attachment and relational approach, you’ll experience a supportive relationship that helps build trust and connection. EMDR helps your brain and body reprocess painful memories so they don’t keep causing the same emotional reactions. Inner child work allows you to care for the younger parts of you that still carry hurt or fear, while somatic awareness helps you notice and calm what’s happening in your body. Together, these approaches help you feel more grounded, peaceful, and whole.
Recovery is about more than stopping a behavior; it’s about understanding the pain that led you there. Many people use substances to cope with anxiety, loneliness, or the effects of trauma that feel too big to face alone. From an attachment perspective, we’ll explore how early experiences and relationships may have shaped your need to self-soothe or disconnect. Together, we’ll work on building safety, trust, and healthier ways to manage stress and emotions. If you struggle with social anxiety or feel like you’ve “lost time” and need to catch up in life, therapy can help you rebuild at your own pace; finding self-compassion, confidence, and connection along the way.

Healing is a deeply personal journey and there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. Counseling at Healing Resources Mental Health offers a safe and affirming space tailored to you where you can start to get in touch with your true feelings and needs.
Using trauma-informed counseling including EMDR, inner child work, nervous system education, and somatic practices, we’ll help you feel more grounded and at home in your body.
Our sessions take place in a paced way, gently exploring the roots of your patterns and reconnecting to and nurturing parts of you that need your attention.
Over time, you’ll learn how to support your mind, body, and emotions, build inner resilience, and respond to life with more ease and confidence.
